DB Schenker is a major player in global logistics, specialising in air, sea, and land freight. With over 70,000 employees and thousands of facilities across Europe and beyond, DB Schenker manages a huge array of buildings. These include state-of-the-art warehouses, secure compounds, and specialised facilities for the pharmaceutical industry.
DB Schenker needed centralised FM software
Until now the UK team had managed their facilities without centralised FM software. But when Richard Henson, DB Schenker’s Head of Facilities Management for the UK and Ireland, joined the team earlier this year - he knew he needed to bring oversight and control to the FM function:
"Managing over 30 properties in the UK and Ireland without an integrated CAFM system was proving impossible. We needed a centralised, scalable solution to streamline operations, ensure compliance, and optimise contractor performance."

To address these issues, Richard led a tender process, evaluating leading major CAFM providers.

The implementation of Expansive FM’s platform will introduce real-time data tracking, enabling DB Schenker to monitor contractor performance, manage reactive and planned maintenance, and maintain budget oversight. Richard elaborated:
