Expansive FM is delighted to announce that they have been appointed as the CAFM partner for the St Monica Trust.
The St Monica Trust is a charity that operates five retirement villages in the South West, each offering a unique community experience for those who live there. Additionally, they manage four care homes in Bristol, North Somerset and BANES, all designed to provide care tailored to their residents.
The Trust has grown rapidly in recent years and has ambitious plans to extend their operations to keep pace with the needs of an ageing population.
Given the scale of their growth plans in such a highly regulated sector, it was paramount to find a reliable CAFM system to oversee their facilities' maintenance and compliance.
St Monica Trust launches tender for CAFM partner
In 2022, the team began a tender process to find a new CAFM partner. Gerard Hallet, Head of Facilities and Capital Projects, was clear he wanted to introduce best-in-class CAFM technology to:
- Consolidate a large contractor roster
- Gain strategic oversight of assets
- Scale compliance capabilities
- Become a data-driven FM team
But he realised success depended on getting the fundamental building blocks of the strategy in place first. To capture and analyse the right data, St Monica Trust needed the tools to digitise and automate:
- Work order management
- Asset registers
- Reactive maintenance
- PPM
Expansive were soon shortlisted and appointed as CAFM partner for the trust.
Expansive’s usability key to capturing data
From the outset, Gerard was impressed by the flexibility and usability of the Expansive platform:
"We needed a system that our engineers could use in the field with minimum training. It needed to operate across many different sites, by engineers in all sorts of places in quite complex buildings. The Expansive platform really fit the bill.”
He continued:
"We wanted a ‘made for mobile experience’ that could capture as much data as possible in real-time - and help us continually review and optimise our process as we did so.”
CAFM lays the foundation for strategic growth
The CAFM’s data-crunching capabilities will be a vital part of the Trust’s plan to support future growth and safeguard compliance:
"Our plan is to lay the foundations for future growth with these digital tools. With the Expansive CAFM, we’ll have the right systems in place to scale compliance with HSE and CQC requirements. It will give us the oversight we need to manage day-to-day contractor performance, and then the strategic data we need to plan our future growth.”
Why choose Expansive?
The Expansive system is not a one-size-fits-all solution; it’s tailored to fit the specific needs of each organisation. This personalised approach sets Expansive apart from many of their competitors.
As Gerard points out:
"We valued the system's flexibility and the quality of the support. We weren't looking for a one-size-fits-all solution that tried to cater to everyone but satisfied no one."
Expansive is proud to be working with St Monica Trust
Josh Greibach, CEO of Expansive FM, is delighted to be working with the team at St Monica Trust.
“The St Monica Trust is a fantastic institution looking to support growth using the latest digital tools. We are really excited to help them build a data-driven strategy for smarter compliance, supplier management, and cost control.”
For his part, Gerard Hallet has been impressed by the focus and dedication of the Expansive team as they planned their mobilisation:
Expansive has demonstrated not only that they understand the tech but also really understand the issues that we face operationally and strategically. They have deep knowledge of the complexities of estate management and contractors. We are looking forward to working together and developing the relationship in the future.”
