What's new at Expansive this month?
This month, we've focussed on implementing our new cost auditing feature and introducing AI prompt clarification when creating new work orders.
Smarter Cost Controls and Clearer Work Orders
Our latest release introduces two powerful enhancements designed to improve financial accuracy and streamline work order creation. From intelligent cost-auditing safeguards to AI-powered guidance, this update focuses on making everyday workflows clearer, smarter, and more reliable.
💰 Advanced Cost Auditing Controls
We’ve launched a brand-new cost auditing framework that provides deeper visibility and stronger safeguards around cost accuracy and approvals.
Configurable Cost Auditing Rules
A new Cost Auditing Settings area allows organisations to enable or disable individual auditing rules. Each rule can be toggled independently, giving teams full control over how strict or flexible their cost-approval workflows need to be.
Real-Time Rule Violation Alerts (At Cost Approval)
When costs are submitted, the system now automatically checks for any breaches of configured auditing rules.
If a violation is detected, the reviewer is shown a clear alert and can choose to either:
-
Proceed and approve the costs,
- Reject the costs, or
-
Query them for further clarification
This ensures potential anomalies are surfaced immediately and never slip through unnoticed.
Dashboard Enhancements for Audit Oversight
Dashboards now display work order counts with unreviewed auditing breaches, giving users an at-a-glance view of where attention is needed most.
Smarter Notifications
A new notification setting alerts users when submitted costs violate a cost auditing rule, enabling faster responses and tighter financial control across teams.
🤖 AI-Powered Clarification Prompts for Work Orders
Creating work orders is now more intuitive and efficient.
As users enter key fields such as the summary, description, and request type, AI analyses the content and suggests helpful clarification questions. These prompts help ensure critical information is captured upfront - reducing back-and-forth and improving work order quality.
Users can:
-
Move forward without answering the suggested questions, or
-
Provide responses, which are saved directly to the work order for future reference
The result is clearer instructions, smoother handovers, and better outcomes for everyone involved.
That's it for this month! Be sure to stay tuned for more updates to come.
